Work in Two Parts of a Document at Once

Learn how to use the Word’s split-screen trick, if you often need to work in two parts of a document at the same time.

Split the window (choose View > Split) or open a second window (choose View > New Window). You may sometimes need to use both multiple windows and splitting when working with complex documents.

The top part of the window shows one part of the document; the bottom part, another. Each half of the screen scrolls individually, so you can peruse different parts of the same document without switching windows.
